Depart from La Bastide Puylaurent in Ardeche along the GR®7 and GR®72 towards Notre Dame des Neiges via Coureges (a fine ancient restored farm) and Les Bories situated amidst woods and pasture. After a few metres you arrive at a junction where the GR®72 descends to St Laurent les Bains; take the track to the left towards Cofour (yellow and white markings) which follows a balcony route, high above and around St Laurent les Bains to reach another junction at Cofour Nord.
Here take the track to the left where you begin to climb towards the Coulet de Pecoyol (1264 m.). The ascent is quite long but not difficult, and as you climb, you will find the shade under the trees. When you arrive at the top, you are rewarded with a splendid panorama ! Continue straight ahead along a level track and descend slightly to arrive at the Coulet de Pecoyol. From here continue left along the GR®7 for a short distance (towards Croix de Pal and Notre Dame des Neiges) and as the path begins to descend take a level track between the trees to the right eventually descending to a junction; here take the path to the left marked by an old faded sign to Notre Dame des Neiges.
At the next intersection, continue straight ahead on a path marked with another sign to Notre Dame des Neiges. After descending a rocky path you arrive at a wide level track where you turn to the right; follow this until just before the track becomes a road at which point you take the track to the right next to a large log. Keep following this track, skirting to the rear of Notre Dame des Neiges then winding through the forest, until coming up to a path descending from the Sommet d'Espervelouze. Turn left here and descend along a rocky path becoming a track to la Courege. Follow the road down until you see a path to the right leading to La Bastide.
